Miso Pinstripe Straight Leg Jean, £99, Aligne

Looking good doesn’t need to be expensive. It’s such a myth that it does, and it’s one that’s always annoyed me. Style really isn’t about having tons of money; it’s something personal and unique to each individual and is such a powerful way of expressing yourself. Some people might have all the money in the world to splash out on a designer wardrobe, but if you’re not sure what suits you or what you like, it doesn’t even matter. Having a tighter budget doesn’t mean that you can’t dress in a way that feels special. As you’ve probably guessed, this is something I’m really passionate about, so I found 15 new season pieces for under £100 that prove it.

Despite the doom and gloom in the news about the prices of clothing (and everything else) constantly going up (the inflation rate for clothing in the UK was four per cent in March 2024), I promise that there are still plenty of brands that cater to those on a tighter budget. We all know the seriously affordable labels like Primark and Tu Clothing at Sainsburys, but what about those who still want high quality clothing without spending hundreds?

Labels like Sezane, Aligne, Arket and COS are some of my personal favourites, as not only are their products hardwearing and good quality, but they’re stylish too. You might come across one or two people wearing the same item as you (that COS bag is everywhere, and for very good reason), but it’s worth it. I personally don’t have the cash to splash on designer handbags right now, and even if I did, it feels like such a luxury that I’d genuinely find it hard to part ways with hundreds of pounds on one item. Maybe one day, but for now, I’d rather spend less. Luckily I still can. Below, you’ll find my edit of the best new season pieces for less than £100 for you to peruse. I hope you like them as much as I do! Next, read my guide to how to dress up without wearing heels.

Aligne is super affordable, but it doesn’t look it. You’re looking at £125 for a denim dress, or under £100 for a pair of really good quality jeans, like this pinstripe pair. If you have more to spend, you could buy the whole set. It’s certainly on my wish list!

I don’t know about you, but barrel leg jeans are one of my favourite styles. They’re not restrictive (my favourite) and they look effortless, as opposed to low slung or tight-fitting styles. Some people pull those off so well, but I prefer looser styles.
